Tasting notes: Clementine, Stone Fruit, Golden Syrup
Pitaya comes from the slopes of Palestina, Huila, part of the Colombian Massif, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and sourced from 12 smallholder producers led by Alirio Aguilera and Hugo Verdugo. Limited sunlight forces slow maturation and builds real complexity. In the cup it's elegant and structured, with clementine brightness, stone fruit sweetness, and a golden syrup finish.
If you know El Mandarino, you have a good feel for what's coming: same importer, same region, very similar cup profile. Pitaya is a slightly higher-scoring coffee from the same exceptional terroir. El Mandarino will stay in the range until Pitaya is ready to release, so there's no gap in your offering.
• Produced by: 12 smallholder producers, led by Alirio Aguilera and Hugo Verdugo
• Why it's special: Producers earn a 34% premium above local FNC prices. Pink Bourbon's lower yield makes this a considered, quality-first choice.
• Sell it as: Elegant, refined and clean. A step up for customers who already love El Mandarino. Push for filter.
