Full Terms & Conditions 

 

1. Eligibility
   
   

• The competition is open to amateur bakers only. An amateur baker is defined as someone who does not currently, or has not within the last 5 years, worked as a professional baker, pastry chef, or in any commercial baking capacity.
  
  
  

2. Age Requirement
   
   

• Entrants must be 16 years or older at the time of entry.
  
  

• Entrants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to participate.
  
  

3. Entry Rules
   
   

• Each entrant may submit a maximum of one entry per category (Sourdough, Sweets) with a maximum of two entries per person. 
  

• All entries must be original creations. Recipes may be inspired by existing bakes but cannot be direct reproductions of copyrighted recipes.
  
  

• Entrants are responsible for ensuring that their product names and recipes do not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights.
  
  

4. Food Safety & Allergen Compliance
   
   

• All submitted products must comply with UK food safety and allergen regulations.
  
  

• Entrants must provide a complete ingredient list, clearly highlighting allergens (as per UK Food Standards Agency requirements).
  
  

• The Flour Pot cannot take responsibility for any undeclared allergens in competition entries.
  
  

5. Judging Sessions
   
   

• Finalists will be notified by email or phone and must be available to attend one of the designated judging sessions (dates provided in advance).
  
  

• If a finalist cannot attend, their entry may be disqualified.
  
  

6. Judging Criteria
   
   

   • Taste & flavour balance
     
     

   • Texture & bake quality
     
     

   • Presentation & creativity
     
     

   • Story & inspiration behind the bake
     
     

• Entries will be judged on:
  
  

• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  
  

7. Winning Entries & Recipe Use
   
   

• The Flour Pot reserves the right to adapt or modify winning recipes for production consistency, cost control, ingredient sourcing, or allergen management before products are sold.
  
  

• The winning and runner-up products will be produced and sold in-store for a limited promotional period (one month) 
  
  

8. Prizes
   
   

• Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered.
  
  
  

9. Publicity & Media
   
   

• By entering, participants agree to The Flour Pot using their name, photo, story, and images of their bake across promotional channels including but not limited to social media, website, press releases, and in-store displays.
  
  

• No additional compensation will be provided for publicity use.
  
  

10. Liability
    
    

• Entrants participate at their own risk. The Flour Pot accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or injury incurred as a result of entering the competition or attending judging sessions.
  
  

• Entrants are responsible for the safe transport of their baked goods to the judging sessions.
  
  

11. Data Protection
    
    

• Personal data submitted during the entry process will be collected and processed in accordance with The Flour Pot’s Privacy Policy.
  
  

• Data will only be used for the purposes of administering the competition and will not be shared with third parties, except where necessary.
  

12. General
    
    

• The Flour Pot reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the competition if necessary due to circumstances beyond its control.
  
  

Submission of an entry will be deemed acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

1.Eligibility

This offer is valid for students at the following universities only: BIMM, University of Brighton, Sussex University. This offer is only valid at The Flour Pot Bakery Elm Grove and not other Flour Pot stores.
