This week we've been chatting with Lucy, our superstar General Manager at The Flour Pot Bakery, First Avenue. Here's a little bit about her and her journey at The Flour Pot. 

'I have been working for The Flour Pot Bakery for just over a year, starting off at our Sydney Street site as a supervisor, I then moved down to the Beach for the summer as the Assistant Manager, and have just been promoted to General Manager of First Avenue, after moving here in October.

From the beginning of my time at Sydney Street, the opportunities for development and progression I have had have been countless, and the support I’ve received from my managers and peers has been invaluable in inspiring me to learn and grow more.

My favourite thing about my current role is its duality. I am able to invest in my own personal development; spending a lot of time refining my management skills, making my site run the best it can do- financially and operationally, and crucially ensuring the happiness and motivation of my team. Additionally, I still spend a significant amount of time on the floor, running shifts and building relationships with regulars and new customers alike- these connections above all are what makes me love the job and this industry so much'.
